21 Days of Remarkable Uganda


Pick up from Airport

Day 1.

  • Drive to Gulu via Murchison falls National Park
  • 6:30am: Departure for Murchison
  • 9am: Bombo- Basket weaving and dying with women group at Nubian community
  • 11am: Departure for Ziwa
  • 1pm: Lunch
  • 2pm: Nature walk at Ziwa rhino sanctuary
  • 7pm: Dinner at Camp fire with the rangers + story telling

Day 2

  • 6:30am: Shoebill boat cruise at river Kafu
  • 8:30am: Bush breakfast
  • 10am: Day long volunteering at school
  • 5pm: Departure for Murchison falls National Park
  • 8pm: Check into safari camp

Day 3

  • 6:30am: Chimp tracking/bird watching/butterfly trail at Budongo eco forest

OR Visit Bunyoro palace Musuem for rich cultural and historic experiences.

  • 9am: Breakfast
  • 10am: Drive to
  • 12:30: lunch
  • 1pm: launch cruise to top of the falls
  • 3:30pm:walk to top of falls
  • 4:30pm:top of the falls
  • 6pm: Return to lodge
  • 7:30 dinner and story telling

Day 4

  • 6:30am morning game drive
  • 10am: breakfast
  • 11am: departure for Gulu
  • 1pm: sampling luo dishes
  • 2pm: visit to Fort Patiko
  • 4pm: departure for lira


  • Tree planting in lira
  • 2pm: departure for siipi falls
  • 5pm: camping at siipi falls


  • 8am: Absceiling/rock climbing at siipi
  • 11am:village walks and agro-tourism experience(coffee)
  • 4pm: departure for jinja
  • Overnight at source of the nile

Day 7

  • 7am: Tour of Source of the Nile and Lake Victoria
  • 9am: Rafting half day/Bungee jumping/kayaking
  • 1pm: Lunch
  • 2pm: zip lining in mabira/Quad biking/ horseback riding by the Nile
  • 5pm: Departure for Kampala
  • 8pm: Check into hotel
  • Live entertainment-options include Kampala’s night clubs/comedy/national theatre/cultural dances at Ndere troupe center (cultural music and dances)

Day 8

  • City Tour

Day 9

  • 7am: Drive to Lake Mburo
  • 9am: Visit to Drum makers in Mpigi
  • 11am: Drive to lake mburo continues/with stopover at equator village
  • 3pm: Bird watching Boat cruise (3 hours)
  • 7pm: Camp fire and dinner

Day 10

  • 6:30am: Morning game drive/horseback riding/nature
  • 9:30am Visit of Igongo Museum and eclipse monument
  • 12:30: Sampling of local dishes from western Uganda
  • 2pm: Long horned cattle experience (mix and mingle with the pastoral community)

Day 11

  • Drive to Bwindi
  • 2pm: Visit to community hospital/Ride for a woman
  • 7pm: Dinner

Day 12

  • 6:30am: Visit gorilla nests and later track gorillas
  • 11am: Morning in gorilla laboratory
  • 1pm: Lunch
  • 2pm: Visit community/view point/village walk
  • 7pm: Dinner

Day 13

  • Morning: Batwa Trail and visit to medicine man
  • 2pm: Departure for Lake Bunyonyi
  • 7pm: Overnight at Bunyonyi


  • Fishing crey fish and tour of lake Bunyonyi
  • 2pm: Volunteering at school

Day 15

  • Morning: Volunteering at school
  • Afternoon: Build energy stove/planting trees

Day 16, 17 and 18

  • Mgahinga National Park
  • Batwa Trail
  • Golden monkey trail
  • Visit Batwa caves
  • Community tours
  • Hike to Muhavura/sabinyo or Mgahinga

Day 19

Drive to Entebbe

Day 20

Visit Ngamba/ behind the scenes tour at UWEC
Afternoon: Experience the beach

Day 21

Drive to Entebbe and departure
